Woodend Primary School students are getting the facilities they deserve, with new music and gym facilities thanks to funding from the Andrews Labor Government.
Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today visited the school to officially open the $2 million upgrade.
The project converted the school’s multi-purpose hall into a new gym with extra storage space and the construction of a brand-new music facility with practice and meeting rooms.
The upgrade also upgraded the school’s outdoor spaces, with students able to enjoy an amphitheatre space, refurbished hardcourt, new stairs, decks and ramps, as well as landscaping.
The new learning spaces and facilities were designed by Williams Ravi Architects and the project was built by Raysett Constructions.
The Labor Government has invested $5.6 billion to deliver new schools, more than 1,400 school upgrades, and support more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
Under the Labor Government’s school building boom, 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child can access a great local school and get a great start in life.
