Students in Gisborne will soon have access to the first-rate classrooms and facilities they deserve, with work under way upgrading Gisborne Primary School.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, today turned the first sod to start construction on Gisborne Primary School’s $1.682 million upgrade, which will help it deliver a 21st century education.
Raysett Constructions have been appointed to build the upgrade, which will construct three new classrooms.
Stage 1 of Gisborne Primary School’s upgrade will create local jobs, with work expected to be completed in mid-2019.
These works mark the start of an ambitious $11.628 million transformation of Gisborne Primary School that will provide students with first-rate learning facilities for many years to come.
Maddison Architects have been appointed to help deliver the $10 million stage 2 of the project, which will include works to demolish the current, under-sized school gym, replacing it with extra classrooms and a brand-new competition grade gymnasium.
