BOOST FOR FOOD RELIEF IN KYNETON

Communities facing food insecurity will have increased access to healthy food, thanks to grants awarded through the Allan Labor Government’s Community Food Relief program.Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today announced a successful grant in Kyneton to help communities in need. Community organisations and neighbourhood houses will receive up to $50,000 for individual projects and up to $75,000 for partnership projects to distribute fresh food and pantry staples.

GIVING MACEDON WOMEN AND GIRLS FAIR ACCESS TO SPORT

The Allan Labor Government’s Fair Access Policy Roadmap is now state-wide, ensuring women and girls right across Victoria have equal access to sporting facilities andopportunities.Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence recently announced the statewide adoption of the policy. All of Victoria’s 79 councils and Alpine Resorts Victoria will now adopt the framework for their local communities including the shires of Macedon Ranges, Hepburn, Mount Alexander, and Moorabool in Macedon.

MAINTENANCE WIN FOR WOODEND PRIMARY SCHOOL

Students across the Macedon Ranges will benefit from improved facilities with maintenance works set to be carried out at Woodend Primary School, thanks to the Allan Labor Government.Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas announced Woodend Primary is one of 88 schools that will share in over $19.9 million of funding from the Planned Maintenance Program (PMP) to undertake 90 maintenance projects between them.

The Allan Labor Government is helping 150 more kindergartens take kids outdoors to learn in nature with new funding doubling the number of bush kinder grants across the state. Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today announced $900,000 to deliver the new round of bush kinder, a program designed to increase the amount of time children spend playing and learning in nature.
