The Victorian Government has introduced legislation to strengthen protections for victim-survivors by criminalising coercive control, strengthening intervention orders and increasing protections against discrimination.

BULLARTO STATION ROLLS OUT NEW LOOK

Visitors can now step back in time at Bullarto Station with new heritage features at the historic destination. Minister for Rural and Regional Development, Michaela Settle and Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas MP today visited Bullarto, near Daylesford, to mark completion of the upgrades, which were supported by $42,000 from the Government’s Tiny Towns Fund.

MACEDON STUDENTS TOP THE CLASS

Victoria shows it is the Education State with Victorian students again topping the nation in NAPLAN results. In Macedon, students at Kyneton Primary and Kyneton High schools saw some of the largest improvements in the state, with scores rising across Year 5 Numeracy and Year 9 Reading and Numeracy respectively.

Labor is continuing to stand with communities affected by January’s bushfires with more recovery support. Minister for National Disaster Recovery, Vicki Ward recently announced the Community Recovery Grants program is now open. Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas is encouraging community groups and non-for-profits to apply for grants up to $75,000 to deliver recovery programs of all sizes.
