If you assault, abuse, intimidate or stalk a retail, fast-food, hospitality or transport worker, you can now be banned from their workplace. The Carroll Labor Government has introduced legislation into the Victorian Parliament to establish a tough new Workplace Protection Order (WPO) scheme to better protect hardworking Victorians.

COMMUNITY RECOVERY GRANTS NOW OPEN

Labor is continuing to stand with communities affected by January’s bushfires with more recovery support. Minister for National Disaster Recovery, Vicki Ward recently announced the Community Recovery Grants program is now open. Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas is encouraging community groups and non-for-profits to apply for grants up to $75,000 to deliver recovery programs of all sizes.

OPERATOR APPOINTED FOR OLD KYNETON PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Old Kyneton Primary School will soon reopen as a creative and community precinct. Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas today announced a new operator has been selected to take on site operations. The new operator is a consortium that brings together local social enterprise, Social Foundry with innovative property management organisation, Impact Neighborhoods International, co working organisation Waterman Workspaces and social impact corporation Valuelab.co.
