The Andrews Labor Government is bringing more productions, concerts and art events to regional destinations across the state, drawing more visitors and supporting more jobs.
Arts and culture fans in Macedon can expect to see more high-quality touring performances brought to their stages, with the latest round of Small Regional Presenters program now open for applications.
The initiative provides grants for community groups and not for profit organisations to bring performing arts shows to their communities.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today invited creative organisations from Macedon to apply for the program which is delivered by Regional Arts Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government.
Funding of up to $15,000 is available for regional presenters with a track record of presenting performing and live arts events in their local community. The 2022 round of the program will support presenters to stage shows between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2023.
The program also helps boost the skills of local presenters by encouraging them to develop long term plans and audience development strategies.
Previous grants have supported shows including The Bellarine Sounds which brought concerts to towns along the Bellarine Peninsula, The Waiting Room which gave theatre performances and workshops in Paynesville and a children’s show called Dinosaur Time Machine held in Heyfield.
The 2022 round of Small Regional Presenters is now open for applications and closes on 10 October 2022.
