The Andrews Labor Government is supporting local artists to reconnect with audiences through Touring Victoria, while delivering the best productions and performances to regional locations.
Macedon’s artists and creative organisations are invited to hit the road and take their performances, exhibitions and events across regional and outer-metropolitan Victoria.
Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today called for applications for the Andrews Labor Government’s Touring Victoria program which provides grants of between $10,000 and $250,000 to support tours by Victorian arts and cultural organisations and creatives.
The most recent round of grants supported regional tours from such diverse acts as singer Kutcha Edwards, all-female circus-comedy show Trash Test Dummies, The Australian Ballet, Finucane and Smith and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
This new program means that audiences in Macedon can expect even more of the best live theatre, music and cultural events up ahead.
Touring productions also provide an economic boost to the towns and regions they visit.
The 2022 round of the program will support touring activity that hits the road from 1 November 2022.
