Macedon clubs score sport grants

Twelve grassroots sport and active recreation organisations in Macedon are set to bolster their coaching skills, administration expertise, or score new sports equipment thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today announced the successful applicants from Macedon of the latest round of the Andrews Labor Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $5,000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness.

Grant recipients in Macedon include:

Kyneton Basketball Association Macedon Ranges Bowling Club Riddells Creek Cricket Club Inc Riddells Creek Tennis Club Inc Romsey Tennis Club Woodend – Hanging Rock Pentanque Club Inc Macedon Ranges Basketball Association Inc Macedon Rangers Soccer Club Incorporated The Program is part of the Andrews Labor Government’s commitment to make community sport more accessible and inclusive, stimulate local economies, build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities, and increase local participation.

Since 2014, the program has injected more than $13.8 million to support clubs and last year provided a valuable funding lifeline to 611 clubs to help them through the pandemic.
