RECORD POTHOLE BLITZ RAMPS UP ACROSS THE WEST

The Carroll Labor Government is getting back to basics and fixing our roads – with works now underway across Victoria’s west.  

Crews are out patching the Sunraysia Highway in Waubra, between Forest Road and Stud Farm Road.

Further patching works are underway on Daylesford-Trentham Road, from Lyman Street, Daylesford to Black Wattle Lane in Bullarto.  

Statewide, other works include Pitfield-Scarsdale Road, between Grand Trunk Road and Dalgleish Road in Springdallah.

These routes are critical freight links between regional Victoria, Melbourne and interstate.

It's all part of a record pothole blitz, with Labor investing an extra $352 million to double the number of potholes fixed this year, from 250,000 to 500,000.

That's double what the Liberal-One Nation Coalition claim they'd fix in a year.

More than 66,600 potholes have already been repaired across Victoria between 1 July and 12 September, with works ramping up as warmer weather creates better conditions for longlasting repairs.

The investment forms part of a record $1.4 billion road maintenance program for 2026-27, with 70 per cent of funds going to regional Victoria.

Only Labor is getting on with fixing our roads, faster.
