GLASSES FOR KIDS AT LANGLEY PRIMARY

Students at Langley Primary School will benefit from free vision screening and glasses as part of the Allan Labor Government’s boost for the popular Glasses for Kids program.Minister for Education Ben Carroll said the $6.8 million boost in the Victorian Budget 2024/25 triples the capacity of the program and is one of many ways the Government is helping busy families with cost-of-living pressures.

The Allan Labor Government is calling for applicants to join the Victorian Disability Advisory Council.Minister for Disability Lizzie Blandthorn and Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today called for applicants with lived experience of disability from diverse backgrounds, such as First Nations people, those from multicultural communities or the LGBTIQA+ community.

WALK IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ANZACS

The Allan Labor Government will give a dozen Victorian students the opportunity to embark on a fully funded 11-day study tour to Gallipoli, Türkiye, where they will retrace the footsteps of the ANZACs.Minister for Veterans Natalie Suleyman and Member for Macedon, today invited students in years nine to 12 to apply for the 2025 Spirit of Anzac Prize and gain a deeper understanding of Australia’s wartime history.

BACKING CREATIVE PROJECTS TO BOOST LEARNING AT KYNETON & HEPBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Students at Kyneton and Hepburn Primary School will turn learning into an art form this year thanks to the latest round of grants through the Victorian Government’s Creative Learning Partnerships program.Member for Macedon today announced a $35,000 grant to Kyneton Primary School and a $10,000 grant to Hepburn Primary School through the long running program which supports schools to work with local artists, creative collectives and arts companies on residency projects that will supercharge the curriculum in new, creative ways.

TRENTHAM BATTERY CHARGING UP ENERGY BILL SAVINGS

More Victorian suburbs and towns will be plugged in to neighbourhood batteries, helping lower power bills, get more solar on to Victorian rooftops and provide backup power for communities during extreme weather events.Trentham will be home to one of 65 new battery locations being announced as part of round two of the $42 million Neighbourhood Battery Program.
